Registration for the PCC 2025 at Glasgow now open
5 February 2025. The Postgraduate Combinatorial Conference 2025 will be held at Glasgow 30 April-2 May 2025, and will be preceded by the Scottish Combinatorics Meeting (SCM) on 28 and 29 April. The goal of the PCC is to allow postgraduate students to exchange ideas in an informal environment. Giving a talk or presenting a poster is encouraged (but not compulsory). Funding is available, and the registration deadline is 31 March.
Lauch of the BCC People Directory
30 September 2024. The British Combinatorial Committee is pleased to announce the launch of the BCC People Directory, following approval for a 2-year trial at the British Combinatorial Conference Business Meeting at Queen Mary in July of this year.
The People Directory aims to represent the rich combinatorics landscape in the UK in a dynamic way and provide a useful tool for seminar and conference organisers as well as help orientate and provide visibility to junior researchers. It will be hosted on the People page of this site. Any combinatorialist working in the UK (including postgraduate research students) is encouraged to sign up!
Introducing the newly elected British Combinatorial Committee
4 July 2024. The British Combinatorial Committee welcomes its newly elected committee members Peter Allen, Jessica Enright, Sophie Huczynska and Joseph Hyde, incoming Secretary Andrew Treglown, ex-officio member Andrei Gagarin (as BCC 2026 organiser) and co-opted members Felix Fischer (as BCC 2024 organiser) and Robert Johnson (as outgoing Secretary). Many thanks are due to outgoing committee members Julia Böttcher, Stefanie Gerke, Jozef Skokan, and especially former BCC Chair Peter Cameron for their invaluable contributions.
Congratulations to the winner of the 2024 BCC PhD Thesis Prize
2 July 2024. Bertille Granet was awarded the 2nd BCC PhD Thesis Prize today for an outstanding thesis in Combinatorics, and presented her results in a prize lecture at the 30th BCC at Queen Mary University of London. The work of Bishal Deb and Maria Ivan was highly commended. The prize jury comprised invited BCC speakers Maya Stein and Martin Skutella.
